Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @softa:

Today, we will look again at Prague and specifically on Radnické schody. These stairs connect the streets Ke Hradu and Loretánská. They are about 100 meters long, have 127 steps and overcome a 30 meter elevation. At the bottom there are two Baroque sculptures. The statue of St. Josef with Jesus and left statue of St. Jana Nepomucký

This street photo by softa is really amazing...prague is really wonderful and most beautiful city in the central europe. It is regarded by many as one of Europe's most charming, colorful and beautiful cities, Prague has become the most popular travel destination in Central Europe. Millions of tourists visit the city every year. I will also definitely visit prague on day.

The Leaning Church of St. Peter of Alcantara
The ground near Karviná where this church stands has sunk by 37 meters in just a few decades due to the collapse of mine tunnels underground. Nowadays, the church leans almost as much as the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, and it has become a unique tourist attraction.

That is pretty spectacular story and an amazing image well worth featuring in today's edition.

After introducing you to "The Spy" sculpture, I am here with another iconic landmark of the Lower Square in Opava. This is the Church of St. Adalbert (Vojtech in the Czech Language), a majestic Baroque church built at the end of the 17th century. Home to the Silesian repositary, the church has a status of the national cultural landmark.

Klínovec is the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains with a height of 1244 meters above sea level. At the top is a 24 meter high stone lookout tower and a closed hotel. There is also a 80 meter high TV transmitter. In the winter months the peak is used by skiers who use the cable car from Jáchymov.

This picture was taken during a surprise trip to Prague, that I have organised for my wife :) On the picture you can see the Prague Town Hall (on the left in the foreground) and Gothic Church of Our Lady before Tyn in the background!

It’s really sweet to hear the story behind the scene! Thanks for your sharing! Love the old town in Prague!

Magical is the one word I can describe the old town in Prague. It's like time has barely had any effect on the town and the minimalist city center serves as a door to the old times of the city. especially the night view in old town alwayz amazing & tremandous look.

Velký Pařezitý rybník, Zacharias of Hradec founded this pond in 1565. The pond has already been used as a drinking water source for Telč since its inception. The water from the pond was led by a sink from the Jihlava basin to the Telčský brook in the Dyje basin. At present the pond is used for extensive fish farming and still serves as a backup source of drinking water for the city of Telč.

Being in Prague, without enjoying an evening opera in this historic establishment would be a shame ... The building is grand on the outside, and just as majestic on the inside.
One of the most beautiful theater that can exist. The shows are always of a very high level, the acoustics are exceptional. The particular charm and the beauty of the place deserve a visit.

Benedictine monastery "In Emmaus", Vyšehradská, New Town, Prague 2

The monastery was built after 1347, still rebuilt. Slavic and Baltic languages were grown here. Emperor Charles intended to send missionaries from here further to the East. Charles hoped to unite Eastern and Western Christians ... With the Emperor's death, the plan was over.

A quick shot from the Chateau Valtice; situated here in Valtice, a South Moravian town. Last year, an extension of the cellar was built and this side is hired by a group for programs. It is 100% built of bricks and cement which keeps a very constant cool temperature. The atmosphere is serene inside. The dim light adds some harmony.
To the owners, it is very profitable for them the hire out the place and sell the wines at higher prices.

If there’s a good weather so there’s no chance to walk in the old Town of Prague without seeing some street performance.
Because Prague is full of different shows happening like everywhere from singing to music playing or funny acting and art shows and many more.

Imagination
I half-close your eyes. The color disappears, the image becomes black and white. There is no modern detail. Here is a medieval bishop raised his finger. The soldier of the city guard leaned on the railing of the bridge and looked down at his reflection in the river.

Cesky Krumlov doesn't need any special recommendation. I took this photo in 2016 during my trip around Czech Republic. For me it looks like some French town from Mddle Ages.

Walking through Prague we went to the park, it is located near the German embassy. The park itself is very large, as far as the eye can see., There is a sculpture of David Black.
Personally, I really like his work. As well as the residents of the city. Although, of course there is resonance. Not a large, cozy, medieval town, with neat streets, and in places such modern creations. How much it fits. However, there are many works of David Black in the city.

From the top you can see the simplicity of the city of Prague which is the heart of Europe, where its architectural style is characteristic that makes us fall in love with all of us who came to this wonderful country.

Going down from the Prague Castle (Pražský hrad), taking the way back to the Charles Bridge (Karluv most), you'll find several statues. I love taking close-ups of statues, maybe because I have the sensation that they can come alive in any moment.
Prague 13.jpg

he only sculpture of the Charles Bridge from white marble is Saint Philippe Benicius, the founder and general of the Order of Servits (1714, Michal Mandl). On the sculpture, Saint Philip is dressed in white robes, traditional for the order of servits, in his left hand he holds a branch of a lily, a cross and a book, and at his feet is a tiara symbolizing the rejected title of the Pope. Legend has it that after the death of one of the popes of Rome, Philippe Benicius was considered the most suitable candidate for the Pontiff's place. But being a very modest person and thinking himself not worthy of such a high mission, he hid in a cave, until another dad was elected. The inscription on the pedestal of the sculpture confirms this legend: "The fifth general of the Order of Servites Saint Philip Benicius is loved by God for modesty"

Pilgrimage Chapel Sharp

In Litoměřice, near the charming town of Úštěk, there is a hill called Kalvárie, which once grew up to an altitude of 398 meters. Visiting this place is an extremely impressive experience. An interesting view of the surrounding countryside was probably always offered and it was possible to visit the pilgrimage site since the beginning of the 18th century.

One of the oldest and functional medieval clocks in history, the Prague astronomical clock in Old Town brings with it a legend that would bring suffering to the city if the clock is neglected and its good operation is placed in jeopardy. At present, it is being rehabilitated and will resume operations in August 2018.

Sphinx bridge, probably the best known statue of Sphinx on Czech territory can be found in beautiful English-type park belongs to the Chateau Veltrusy, 20 km North of Prague.

All pictures are amazing I am in Wonder how you will select winner or best one sir @czechglobalhosts

Astronomical clock (Orloj) in the old town of Prague, Czech Republic.

you made two entries in this contest, one was plagiarized, which makes me wonder if this was your image. Your comment history is full of plagiarism and you have never made a post, which makes people believe you are just here to farm for upvotes by plagiarizing.

@derangedvisions sorry Sir, i deleted the photo. i will never do this again.

Stealing others images of the internet and submitting them as your own? Absolutely disgraceful! You are a shame of the Steemians community!

Good call Wes!

The Old Town is among the oldest and by far, the most beautiful district in the Czech Capital of Prague. The core of the historical center is Old Town Square, which started as a marketplace in the 10th century and has been the site for many political and cultural events that have shaped the history of Prague.
