Steemians!
Ireland...what can I say? Went there with my other partner in crime a.k.a my sister and enjoyed the hell out of our travel.
Ireland is one of those places that really captivates the heart....I was lucky as I went there during the one week of sun they have in the year. We only got rain on the last day in Dublin which was fine and I actually managed to score a sun burn. Go figure!
We flew out of London and flew into Dublin where we rented a car at the airport and began our journey.
Valentia Island
First stop, Valentia Island (Strange name for an Irish island)
Valentia Island is in County Kerry and County Kerry is absolutely stunning.
Most random thing ever, when my sister and I were in Valentia, she bumped into a work colleague who just happens to live in Valentia and knows pretty much everything about natural Ireland as he is a specialist in environmental issues and advises the Irish government on such matters. We were truly lucky as we got the tour of tours.
Just off the coast of Valentia are the islands where they shot they latest Star Wars films where Luke Skywalker is found. We didn't manage to make the trip to the Skelligs as the Atlantic was being it's usual badass self. Interesting things to note about those island, they are the worlds oldest rock formations and puffins apparently like chilling there.
Factoids that might win you a million dollars one day :).
Next Stop - The Burren National Park and the Cliffs of Moher
The original plan was to go to the Burren and do a hike. Once we were done, we realised that the Cliffs of Moher were about 20 minutes away, so as the sun started to set, we made our move.
The Burren national park is characterised by extremely unique mounds of karst rock and sulphur pools.
We did a 4 hour hike, and it was totally worth it.
The Cliffs of Moher
Now the Cliffs of Moher were the highlight of my trip. Unlike in the UK, there are no safety hand rails or anything that tells you that you can't go here or there, which was absolutely fantastic as it gave us the opportunity to really get to the edge of the cliffs.
The Cliffs are about 200 meters high and the views are EPIC!!!!!
When we left the Cliffs, as we were driving, it was 10:30pm and I managed to take this shot out of our car that was moving at 80km per hour. I'm pretty pleased that an old Iphone managed this.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my latest epic travel blog and I really really really hope that you all visit Ireland at least once in your lives. It's a place to be awestruck and completely hammered on Guinness.
And yes it's 100 percent true, Guinness in Ireland tastes completely different and a bajillion times better than anywhere else in the world.
Also, I leave you with a bunch of panoramic shots.
Remember peeps and peepettes, your upvotes and comments and maybe even your resteems are 100% welcome =)
Beautiful photography man! And your collection of panoramic views are epic as well! Looks like Ireland is most definitely the place to be. Thanks for sharing brother :)
Thanks for the love! You are right, Ireland is definitely the place to be when the weather is good :)
Yeah. This pics are crazy fresh. How does one take these kind of pics. What kind of camera allows this. Guys I'm so happy to be apart of this community and the high level of joy is also coming from this track I'm listening to that is so fitting for this moment:
Cryptocreative this is a really cool post... your pictures are beautiful and your writing is very funny and really enjoyable to read. Keep posting please!
Glad you enjoyed the post @natnot! Love you baby! =)
;)
Awesome! How lucky to bump into the work colleague! I love Ireland so much, it's been to long since I've been there.
Hmmm, where do Puffins usually like chillin' by the way?
Cg
Glad you liked the post maing! Regarding The Puffins, I assume that if they like hanging out near the Skelligs (rough /cold seas / rugged land masses) you might find them somewhere else with those conditions. Just seems to me wherever there aren't too many predators is where di Puffins puff!
I weed legal in Ireland @cryptogee? Coz It's so fitting for a J..
funny you mention that.....when we were in Valentia, we ended up drinking Guinness with a bunch of boat captains and stuff....when one of them pulls out a massive hash spliff. Nuff said! =)
Been there 1 month before;)) enjoy
One of my favourite places in Ireland to visit!!!! Great shots :) Thanks for sharing!!!
With a walk can make us become younger, success is always for you
