I've been pretty busy lately. There's a lot of things happening in my life right now especially at work that I'm not able to have my own personal time just to be able to think and write something down. Right now that things have finally settled, I'm so glad to have this little time to be able to ponder on life once again.
I just realized that no matter how busy I am with everything that's going on around me everyday, I still always have time for a little adventure. It's like it has already became a part of my system. If I am already too stressed out or burned out, it's like my body needs to refresh and recharge and the only thing that can do the work is nature herself. And so last weekend, I and my girls were off again for another Waterfalls Hunt down south of Cebu and we're just absolutely blown away by the magnificence of what we found.
I just can't help but remember when all of this Waterfalls fascination started. After I've had my first experience with Waterfalls way back 2014, I've felt ever since the urge and the thirst for more Waterfalls experiences. I've already written a blog about Waterfalls a couple months back but I still can't stop talking about it even until now. That's how much happiness Waterfalls bring to my life. After that first encounter, I've found out that there are other more Waterfalls in my hometown, Cebu that I can go to and that started my Waterfalls Chase. Now this one right here is an additional checkmark on my bucketlist and I feel so elated. 💕
Last Sunday, August 19, 2018, I and my girl squad decided to visit this not-so-known and off-the-beaten-track Waterfalls in the municipality of Malabuyoc which is named Kabutungan Falls. I've researched about this waterfalls before and have put it in my list but just did not have the chance to visit it yet because of the lack of information on how to get to this place and where to find it's exact location. This falls is not as famous as the other waterfalls in Cebu which actually what makes it exciting to visit since you don't know what to expect. That's also the upside of Waterfalls hunt, your adventurous side will really come out since you'll have to exhaust all means just to be able to find the waterfalls and when you finally see it, it's always worth all the sweat and is very rewarding.
Fortunately, we're able to gather enough information to be able to know where to start looking for the falls' location. After a tiring 4-hour bus ride from Cebu City to Malabuyoc, we had to walk 20 minutes from the bus drop-off point going to the jump-off point of the waterfalls.
And then we settled our payment for the entrance fee and for the guide. (As you can see we need to have a guide to be able to go to Level 3 and 4). Ooh, so this Waterfalls has 4 levels, exciting!
And then off we go! But before anything else, we had to take our first group picture for the day.
I'm just so lucky and blessed to be able to have these girl friends who also share the same passion for adventure as me and is always game for any type of travel. I'm very fortunate to have met them.
And then after that, we started our trek up the river. This is what greeted us onset after a few steps. Isn't that view gorgeous?
And then after we passed by that gorgeous view, that's when it got a little bit challenging. We had to be careful while passing through this point since this one started to get steep. No previous blogs about this place prepared us about this part, but I guess this is a bit of a surprise. Nevertheless, we're able to pass through safely. ;)
After a couple more minutes, we passed by this another gorgeous view and this time, the water is deeper. The guide said this is already the 3rd level and we can definitely jump from the top of the rocks out into the water. I'd love that! We all instantly became giddy and happy. I just recently learned how to swim after 22 years and so I really liked jumping off waterfalls now. But we decided to pass by this part and continue to the 4th and last level. We'll just come back again here later for the jumping.
And then voila! We finally reached the last level of the waterfalls and I can't believe how maginificent it is! Look at the color of the water. It's insanely and refreshingly blue. And from where we're standing, it looked like a pretty high jump. And the water's definitely deep. Woaaaaah. Would you dare to jump?
It's just amazing that no matter how many blogs I've read about this waterfalls and how many photos I've seen, it still does not equal to how the Waterfalls actually looks and feels when you see it with your own eyes. It's like, the photo can never capture the real beauty of the waterfalls. Not even this photo I have.
Now, we all took our time and just took in the view right in front of us. I can't explain the happiness I feel knowing that I finally got to this place which is pending in my bucketlist for the past couple of years already and that I'm back in doing what I love-- exploring and chasing down waterfalls along with my good friends. Ahhh, life is good.
But honestly, I did not have the courage yet to jump this high without a life vest. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed by going down and swimming, as well as my girls.
And then we went back down to the 3rd level and jumped endlessly from there since that was not as high as the 4th level. We did not stop until we got enough.
Ahhh, I'm glad I spent my weekend well and became happy and lived this life for another day. How about you? How was your weekend?
Thank you Steemians for dropping by. Until the next adventure!
P.S. all photos are mine.
