"The Golden City" - An inside look at San Francisco!

From restaurants and high-rise views to beaches, palm trees and nightclubs in the Bay Area

This past weekend, I had the rare opportunity to travel across the United States into the colorful and exuberant world of California's San Francisco. They say that, if one seeks to experience a true adventure, one must first leave behind their comfort zone.

With no contacts, hotel rooms, or knowledge of the city, I was attempting to do just that!

After landing, I used a hospitality app to find a place to stay with amazing views of San Francisco. The city is known for having very steep roads and hills, so walking around can get exhausting. As you can see, staying here was definitely worth the climb!

Venturing down into the village entails passing through numerous scenes of vibrant and energetic people. The city itself is truly full of life and emotion!

You might look to your left and see a giant mural remembering Alex Nieto, a Mexican-American man who was wrongfully killed by four police officers. You might then look to your right and see a group of girls wearing t-shirts that say "Bae Area," a witty pun on the city's geography.

When the sun goes down, San Francisco's fiery energy seems to burn even brighter!

This picture was taken at the top floor of one of the city's most prominent hotels. It's a bar/lounge simply called "The View." In the background you can see the famous Golden Gate Bridge, and in the foreground you can find the world headquarters of major tech companies like Google, Square and Twitter.

By the end of the night, I had met and talked with dozens of new people.

These are two complete strangers who introduced themselves to me and were happy to show me around. Only in San Francisco have I experienced people this friendly and outgoing!

Before heading to the airport, I stopped by the beach to reflect on the trip and dip my feet in the Pacific Ocean. There were people surfing, fishing, collecting shells and more!

It was there that I received a notification from the Steemit Team, informing me that my account had been approved!
