Well, the dreaded 56 hour train from Ulan Ude to Khabarovsk was rough!! But we did it in typical terrible traveller style!
We had families travelling around us with small children everywhere, which at first we thought would be a nightmare.
It turned out that apart from doing what kids do, play, they were some of the most well behaved children we have ever experienced. We had noticed this before but thought it was just a one off, but it turns out Russian children are really well behaved!! So we had prepared by buying some sweets to share with people as had happened with our other trips. So we dished them out to the kids as needed. They loved us....obviously!!
!
This is the view I had of Eva for pretty much 40 hours!!
When things got a little too much we had to have to relieve, the only way we know how! Beer and vodka, because......Russia!
The view from the dining car was good but unfortunately we just appreciated it rather than taking photos. But it went a bit like this.
The journey was definitely a bit of a blur and for the first time traveling we have had way too much sleep!!
Some stops on the way were quite nice.
And some, not so nice.
So this was the longest part of our journey complete and the trip is drawing to an end. Our last stop is Vladivostok, where we fly home.

Biggest Lenin head in Russia. Which if caught taking a silly picture like this 20+ years ago would have resulted in jail time or 60 years, resulting in trip to the gulag. Glad times have changed!!
We also visited a monastery with a embalmed monk they claim to still be alive. He most certainly wasn't. The architecture was nice though.
