In the age of globalization, when the world became a small village because of the spread of the Internet and television, the dreams of traveling to different and exotic destinations vary. But we would like to remind you that some of the most important cities can not be missed, no matter how long you wish to visit them. You have 40 cities around the world to visit before you die. Have you visited any of them?
Marrakesh:
Marrakech, former imperial city of western Morocco, and a major economic center with mosques, palaces and gardens. The Medina is a fortified and densely populated medieval city dating from the Berber Empire, with alleys intertwined like a labyrinth, where the lively souks (markets) sell fabrics, pottery and traditional jewels. Symbol of the city, the minaret of the 12th century Koutoubia Moorish mosque can be seen for miles.
Rome:
Capital of Italy, Rome is a cosmopolitan city whose art, architecture and culture of almost 3,000 years radiate worldwide. Its ruins such as the Roman Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the ancient Roman Empire. Home to the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican City has St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican Museums with masterpieces such as the fresco of the Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo.
Amesterdam:
Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow gabled houses, a legacy of the city's golden age, the 17th century. The museum district hosts the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, presenting the works of Rembrandt and Vermeer, as well as the Stedelijk Museum, dedicated to modern art. Cycling contributes a lot to the character of the city, which has a high number of bike paths.
