Late Afternoon Walk

in #travel7 years ago

When you're born and raised with nature surrounding you, like I am, you really don't get out about as much as you'd like to think. However, when I actually succeed to get off my butt, this is one of the places I can reach within 40 minutes.

I want to show you a few photos of my hometown, and they are all unedited, taken with an iPhone 6s.

Here, we were on our way up the hill. We call the place we were headed for "the edge" (in my village, we call it "Eysturi við Egg").
A flock of wild geese is seen, probably on their way to warmer destinations for the winter.

When you're at the edge, this is what you see. Mountains floating around in the ocean. Magnificent view.

You really realise how small we are, when you're at this spot. There's a tragic story about a 12 year old boy who fell down here while driving sheep to the sheepfold. . He did not survive the 240 metres fall.

This gives me a feeling of having the whole world at my feet. This is a photo a dear friend of mine.

This is amazing! I've been to 'the end of the world' vistas a few times, but this must REALLY feel like that.

Thanks to Sean I've now followed you, I'm hoping you'll find time to create new content for us :D

Thank you! And thanks to Sean :D
I’m sure more content will come soon enough!
You don’t notice this being “the end of the world” while being here, but as you see bigger parts of the world and visit big cities, you really do :)

Yes, if you live in a place you often can't see what it even is! Comparing to other parts of the world broadens this 'understanding' :-) Glad to hear you'll be back with more! :D

where is this place?

Faroe Islands, in the north atlantic ocean :) Read my other post, there is more info about it :)
