The other day I was walking around the "Old Quarter" of Hanoi, which is heavily French influenced, as is a lot of Vietnam.
I ran into a young Chinese exchange student I met at Hanoi University months ago. He was like, "Lance"....I was like, "uhh....how do you know me"...it took me a minute, but then I realized who he was. Two of his friends came from China, along with 2 Vietnamese twin girls from Saigon who are studying in Hanoi. Their grandfather was Chinese, but they themselves learned Chinese at university. We spoke mostly in Chinese, a few times I spoke English with them, 99% in Mandarin Chinese.
The old quarter gets really busy, lots of tourists...a place I don't go so often, but this night we had a great time, very nice people!!!
Here is the video, peace from Hanoi,
