I'm not a hippie traveler myself, but going through your list i am glad to say i have been to most of them and even was lucky to spend more than a month in some.

I like my comforts too, but once you are out, it is very easy to refuse it, having in mind the other benefits you are getting. Seeing places, meeting new people, learning new cultures. In that light all the comforts seem to fade away and you promise yourself that next year you are going to travel some place nice, and usually it does not happen as often as you'd like to.

I have never been to South america for example. Yet :)
