I've only crossed it on the Indian Pacific (train) myself... Would love to drive it one day... the train runs inland, away from those stunning cliffs. It's just a flat and arid though. So much space in between

That would be an awesome journey in itself @azurejasper. I have not done the Indian Pacific yet and would love to do that one day too. I also love to look down on the vastness of space from the plane and see the desert floor with all the amazing ripples and colour. I mostly take the midnight red-eye flight home as it is so much cheaper. Driving the nullarbor with current fuel prices is actually the more expensive option to flying.
