Haleiwa SUP Paddle on Oahu, Hawaii

The Haleiwa #SUP Paddle is a fun & leisurely paddle — perfect for an overcast day on the bay or a short paddle in-between having lunch & heading to the beach. This paddle begins in the Haleiwa boat dock & traverses through the marina to the Anahulu river. From the Anahulu river mouth, we went under several bridges by coasting along the calm waterways. Haleiwa is a popular destination for locals & tourists alike due to the hub of shops, cafes, restaurants, surf & SUP rental options, as well as ample places to paddle & play.

The Haleiwa SUP Paddle is in a protected & guarded marina, which makes it a beginner paddle while along the Anahulu river. The river is 7.1 miles long, but at low tide it is difficult to go past some rocks that are 2-3 miles upstream. The option to head out to the open water is always there as well, so depending on the conditions or your experience, this paddle is highly customizable & has something for everybody.

Distance: 2.25 miles
Time: 1.5 hours
Difficulty: Beginner
Best time: High Tide
Parking: Free
