Huatulco , Mexico - Kids Winter Break

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Huatulco, Mexico was our vacation destination for kids winter school break. We have been to Atlantic side of Cuba few times but not to the pacific except Vancouver, BC years back.
So for a change, thought of going Mexico, not the Atlantic side but the pacific side. Huatulco, suited our search as this is in pacific coast close to Guatemala. We booked a week vacation and decided to explore the place.

It is a resort region in the Mexican state of Oaxaca with white Pacific coast beaches. The region is made up of 9 bays, including the popular cruise-ship port called Santa Cruz Bay.

A night view from our room balcony. Kids went to sleep, I was sitting at the balcony overlooking the pacific ocean, hearing the sound of waves crashing the shore and full moon light all over reflecting the ocean and the shore. I thought to my self , what a paradise! how often, I could enjoy a moment like this, not all the time for sure.
A beautiful moment to remember.

The resort had two private beaches, at times we were the only one on the entire beach,it felt like we owned this place. My younger daughter is enjoying the beach on a moment like that.

It is a beautiful and natured place, reminded us Vancouver. The temp over 30C all days and very dry. We came from Ottawa, Canada in a middle of harsh winter where temperatures were -20C. We really appreciated the high temperature to break the winter. On top, the Ocean and mountain views are spectacular.

In addition, the place was a bird sanctuary. It was stunning and quiet a beautiful to see various kind of birds flying around and nose diving on the Ocean to catch their prey. It is amazing to see how they glide in the air rarely flapping their wings. We can reach Moon, Mars and even other solar systems but nature and adaptation of livelihood are always a mystery to understand.

The region is located in earth quake zone, while we were there, there was an earth quake felt in the early morning on the scale of 4.6. Here, you can see a naturally carved human face in a rockey mountains by continuous earth quake. I don't think a human can carve such a beautiful art.
