Day 7 started with a very long drive from Queenstown to Te Anau and then to Milford Sound. Do not underestimate this drive and do cater for time to rest. We stopped over at Te Anau for breakfast at SandFly Cafe. But the cafe is far from being as nasty as a sandfly. The hashbrowns tack is just..... overwhelming.
We carried on with the drive and came across these plains at Eglinton Valleys. I actually thought of dropping a pin using Google, but you definitely will not missed it. Its just one route (Highway 94) to Milford Sound. Standing in the valleys just makes you think of olden days when cattle and horses roam these valleys. While the drive is long, the trip to Milford Sound is a tour by itself. So enjoy the drive if you ever get there.
As you continue driving towards Milford Sound, you start weaving between the mountains, looking at snow caps, driving through low level clouds (happened to do that. While its fun, i can't see shit when i'm driving!). Part 2, I will share some pics from Milford Sound. Was indeed a lucky day for me and I will explain why in the next post!
