In the North of Ethiopia, between the Red Sea and the Nile, very close to Eritrea, we find one of the strangest places, incredible and impossible to imagine. In Far Lands, at about 150 meters below sea level is the Danakil Desert, a veritable hell on the same land, of black mountains and salt formations like the Dallol. Of orange, white or green colors, caused by sulfur and other minerals that emit the gases of volcanoes such as Erta Ale and, at more than 40 degrees during the day, this landscape is only broken by the slow, almost motionless rhythm of the Camel caravans loaded with salt.
Going into this desert is an adventure, a test to our resistance but that in return will offer us a vision that will remain forever in our memory. A tour of one of the tectonic areas with the greatest activity on the planet and the cradle of humanity. But this trip still holds many surprises, because Ethiopia is just that, a surprising place that leaves no one indifferent. Afterwards, the Tigray area awaits us with its mysterious Monasteries and churches, where the myth of the Ark of the Covenant takes on so much strength that it becomes a reality.
