Caught Up In Something That May Not Even Work! Still Trying Just Not Sure.

As most of you know I am in Missouri, a little town called Hartville. Been here since July and was trying to help build this place to help nomads have a place to park and work on building out their vehicles. We have an event coming up in April with Rebel Miner, a nomad that has been on the road for quite a few years after getting out of the military.

We have been working hard at promoting and trying to build the place up but with not many people coming in part of the team does not want to spend a little money to build a small shower hut or anything else on the property. The other half does but will not stand up to the other side to get anything done. It is hard because it seems like they do not really want it and I am working hard to make it happen. I have broken my ankle here and I am fighting a gout attack in the other foot, so it is hard to do anything right now.

It is a simple thing right now as there are 40 acres to boondock on and there is water from a well available to fill tanks or jugs for drinking water. Trying to get them to come up with between $300-$500 to build the shower, already have the water heater for it just need to build an enclosure and it has been a fight. I even offered to help with it but not going to do it all by myself. It is just really frustrating because they do not seem to get that it will make a big difference if there is a place to shower here for the campers. The rates are really cheap compared to other campsites, we have put in 2-50 amp outlets along with 2-30 amp outlets and several 20 amp outlets. I mean cheap as in 10 dollars a night boondocking and 5 dollars for 20 amp, 10 for 30 amp, and 15 for 50 amp per day. if you do by the day. If you do a month it is even cheaper for electricity. We do have porta potties as right now we do not have any dump stations. the person that has the porta potties will drain your black and gray tanks for 20 dollars.

I guess I am just aggravated, frustrated, and depressed with everything happening here, not to mention a broken ankle, and now my gout flare-up. I work really hard to stay on a positive attitude but with all the negativity with the owners, it gets hard. I understand where they are coming from also because they have had some problems with people paying for a couple of days and not leaving, so we had to find a workaround to that through their lawyer.

There are so many places to park and camp for free but they are closing because of the trash and crap that many of the nomads leave behind, not all of the nomads but many of them. Here we charge very little but they still expect it to be free. Trying to host events for things, that does not even go over well. Not sure what to do at this point so just venting and trying to figure it all out. Hope everyone has a great day! Going to try to keep moving forward!
