Cascais TOWN
Cascais is a coastal resort town in Portugal, just west of Lisbon. It’s known for its sandy beaches and busy marina. The old town is home to the medieval Nossa Senhora da Luz Fort and the Citadel Palace, a former royal retreat.
Nearby is the whitewashed Nossa Senhora da Assunção church, with glazed azulejo tiles. Paula Rego House of Stories shows the Portuguese artist’s paintings in a modern building.
It is like a paradise city with a rich feel to it. We saw a lot of expensive cards, boats and yachts all over. It was a very clean, beautiful city with colourful buildings and so many restaurants and coffee shops.
The views are so stunning, I couldnt not share all these amazing pictures with you guys! We went to see the port as well.
Beautiful place, I recommend everyone goes there and checks it out!
Cascais is easily reached from Lisbon by car on the A5 Lisboa-Cascais highway, or alternatively on the scenic "marginal" road, as well as by frequent inexpensive commuter trains. Taxis are also a common and inexpensive mode of transport in the area.
The city has the ruins of a castle, an art and an ocean museum, as well as parks and the charming cobbled streets of the historic centre. The town has many hotels and tourist apartments as well as many good restaurants of varying cost.
It is a fine base to use for those visiting Lisbon and its environs who prefer to stay outside of the city yet in an equally urban and sophisticated environment.Cascais is surrounded by popular beaches.
@nanzo_Scoop & @ivargereiko enjoying the town as well !
Guincho Beach to the northwest is primarily a surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing beach because of the prevailing winds and sea swells, while the calm waters of the beaches to the east attract sunbathers.
The lush Sintra mountains to the north are a further attraction. The shoreline to the west has cliffs, attracting tourists who come for the panoramic views of the sea and other natural sights such as the Boca do Inferno.
It is also becoming a popular golf destination, with over 10 golf courses nearby.
All the photography is ORIGINAL AND MINE.

great post. never would've known about it
Cascais, my town!! Really glad you enjoyed your stay!
the rich feel is because cascais and estoril always been the place where the kings come to the beaches, altough cascais was for a long time a poor fishing village, the turism changed it a bit i guess..
Sintra is beautifull, you need to visit the palaces and castles around sintra, but go on the off season of you will be stuck in lines everywhere..
and guincho is for locals, because when there's no wind its from far away the best beach of Cascais!
Hey! really nice post!! love your pics!!
