I know Las Vegas is all about the glam and lights. But just 58 miles Northeast is a natural reserve called The Valley of Fire. It is marked with the red sandstone that is indicative of the West's landscape.
Aside from the cool scenery, there are ancient petroglyphs from native Americans. In particular, of the Ancient Pueblo Peoples called the Anasazi.
So, aside from my raving and PLURing at EDC at Las Vegas. My gambling so I can get free drinks at the Luxor. My watching magic shows and boxing matches at the MGM Grand. I come here.
You should too :)

I hiked the Valley of Fire in 1994 when they were filming one of the Star Trek movies. We came upon the set and they kicked us out :) Amazing hiking and stunningly beautiful!
damn, I wish I was there during that time!

Gorgeous contrasting colours here, and the white hills in the distance too. What makes them white amongst the red, is it down to geological structure?
