Dear Steemians,
Today I want to share my recent visit to lantern light display for Mid Autumn Festival at Garden by the bay here in Singapore.
It is annual event that attracts a lot of visitors.Although going in to the attraction sites like flower dome cost money, walking around the garden is absolutely free.
The iconic Supertrees. Garden by the bay is one of my favourite locations in Singapore , a beautiful and peaceful garden. Everyday around 7pm, there is a lightning show which is also very amazing to watch .
Mid autumn festival is one of the loveliest Chinese festivals amongst many others. It is about celebration with the family, lantern processions and mooncakes.Marking the end of the autumn harvest, the Mid-Autumn Festival was traditionally a time to give thanks to the gods.
As you can see , all the locations and details are showed in the map.
We started off with a roof area where they have different varieties of orchids .It will be lighted up with colourful lights during the night time.
Since we visited during the day time, there isn't any lights yet. We spotted these hanging fish garlands which are made of recycled plastic.
The theme of this year is fishing village.
That is the flower dome at the back that you can enter with a fee . I have visited inside a couple of times before which display different types of flowers depend on the occasions ( sakura festival, tulip festival or orchid festival).
Here is a photo with my two friends. We talked about cryptocurrency and steemit . They are very interested in steemit , my male friend has already bought some other crypto and I advise him to buy some steem and upvote for me. LOL!
VOW means voluntary welfare organisations. It's amazing how people have came together to create all of this .
You can also have a view of Iconic Marina bay sands from here. It is just a short walk.
It is easily reachable from Bayfront metro station, which you can walk through Marina Bay Sands and further to Garden by the bay.
what kind of festivals do your country celebrate? Let me know in the comment.
Thank you for reading..I hope you enjoy it , I really appreciate the up-vote if you like it and resteem with your friends who might enjoy reading this.
Nice post. It makes me recall the times I went to those beautiful gardens. They were created around the time that I arrived in Singapore (2012). In total, Gardens by the Bay covers over 100 hectares, and it's all built on reclaimed land. (That is, the area was part of the sea until Singapore dumped all that landfill there.)
The great thing is that these gardens are so close to the "downtown" area. Singapore could have used the reclaimed land exclusively for buildings (which would have been lucrative), but instead it created these massive, beautiful gardens there. Truly remarkable and very commendable.
The SuperTrees are amazing. They are massive trellises that not only support plant life, but also collect rainwater (they are shaped kinda like a large funnel ... and like a tree :-) ) and apparently they also contain solar panels.
your comment is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to check out my content. and they are planning next garden at the marina too.
So many colors and beauty!! Thanks for the post.

It's definitely a city worth a visit! Hopefully we will visit it next year.
