Just because our finite senses inform us of the temporality of things, that things have birth and death doesn't negate the evidence of immortality of the spirit. That's a materialistic view of reality to consider that what exists only exists to our senses and that reality is finite, and its also a poisoned (negative) worldview of spirituality that is nihilistic (as the Ultimate End is Nothingness, which makes everything else meaningless). There is manifest reality in which we enter and leave and then there is metaphysical reality, the larger context of evolution towards the infinite All, where our evolution is not limited to time. Consciousness is not time-bound or physically-bound like our bodies, that's the five-sense illusion and it is an error to conflate consciousness with the temporal body.
