WTF is happening with STEEM ? (Is it worth to invest now ?)

in #trading8 years ago

This is crazy.

Yesterday, STEEM took 117% in just one day.
We could have guessed a drop after this rush ?
But no. Today, STEEM continue rushing up with a ~240% increase.

Is it still time to invest ?

This crypto is still very low compared to other trendy money like ETH obviously, but even 10 times lower than Shadow Coin (who dropped yesterday, due to a disappointing announcement). This is very promising, but as always, is it worth it tu invest in such a rush of gold ?

And this is a real question I'm asking you all. I just discovered steemit and already love it, but to which extent is it worth to invest ?

Thank you all for posting on trading, this is a great source of information !

Sort:

It's always a risk but here is what Steem has:

  1. Zero transaction fees.
  2. Super fast transactions with an ability to scale that Bitcoin could only dream of.
  3. One of the few usable blockchain apps in the form of Steemit and Busy with more on the way. They are not perfect but they are miles ahead of the competition right now.
  4. Easy addresses.

I am positive on it as a long term investment but there are never any guarantees in cryptocurrency.

Only ever invest what you can afford to lose.

Do you think it's going to lower again after the hype ? (Before getting back on the long term)

That almost always happens. Nothing ever goes straight up - all markets that I am aware of oscillate.

Even cryptocurrencies have to breathe in and breathe out!

Just throwing in my 2 cents - it is pretty much anyone's guess where it will go from here.

Over the past few months, we seemed to have found the 'floor', since we had been hovering in the $20,00,000-30,000,000 market-cap for a fairly sustained period of time.

While the short-term future is very hard to predict, I think that if you look at the long-term potential that the platform and currency have to offer - it is very promising.

Here is a cool link that I came across which talks about the currency side of things:
https://steemit.com/bitshares/@oaldamster/bitshares-is-superior-to-any-other-crypto-and-therefore-so-is-steem

As far as the blogging / social media side, I'm sure if you try it out you will get a good idea of what it's all about :)

spot on advise and analysis @thecryptofiend

Thanks :)

i say thanks buddy :-)

I just invested 800€ for 10.000 Steem last week.
Why?

  1. I believe in Steem and therefore want ro promote the network
  2. I want to increase my voting power
  3. As in investment the multiplier is amazing when the price is under 1$. Let's put that into perspective:
    If I invest 1000$ into:
  • Bitcoin the price of BTC needs to go up to 10.000$ in order for my investment to multiply by *10
  • Ether the price needs to go up to 400$ to *10
  • Steem the price needs to go up to 1$ (if I buy today to 2.50$) to reach *10
... now you can decide which of these scenarios is most likely or easy ro achieve =)

wise decision - I wanted to invest a bit more too!

Welcome to Steemit

Nice to meet you, Pierre. I will give you some hints. On Tuesday there will be changing a lot but until this day, all old rules are in place as follows:

You will earn STEEM if you produce unique content (authoring), write comments (interaction) and making friends (followers). Very Important: Vote! 40 times within 24 hours is the limit. And don't forget to resteem what you like.

The number of your recent votes is shown here. Just put in your avatar's name in the upper left field and wait until the red countdown in the upper right is ready.

If you need help, please feel free to ask. Steemians always helping each other.

Visit the Steemit Welcome Page where you will find all informations and a lot of links around Steemit.

Use this Steemit FAQ as well. It is a very helpful collection. Steemit development is in Beta stage. Some things may seem to be strange. Just ask!

Happy steemin.

are we sure on Tuesday changing to HF 17 @afrog - i thought postponed?

Real Croak

I thought we are living in the postmodern age where all the news are postfactical in practice. The whole universe is the exsisting matter of postponement. What kind of evidence has the concept of Tuesday in such an instabile environment, @uwelang?

#deutsch #philosophie #postmodern #postfactical

Oh my friend that is from a philosophy point of view some levels too high for me to understand lol @afrog - so I heard it will not happen on Tuesday - we will see when, why, what :-) - have a great day

I powered up 4 days ago - bought in at 0.00006 on the dip.
Happy is not the word I would use! 10btc is now like 50btc.

Hell yeah you must be happy, I wish I had know, but I bet on Shadow Coin instead ahah

@htooms

^^^this is a whale

No, @htooms is not (yet) a whale.
A whale is somebody that has 800 MV (Mega Vesting Shares).
@htooms has only 339 MV. https://steemd.com/@htooms

Like Warren Buffet use to say: "Buy what you understand" . I will say if you drink coke, buy Coca-cola share. If you use Steemit as a blogging platform, buy SteemPower. Just keep it simple and you will be find.!

I sold half and waiting to buy back in at a lower price. Might keep going up but either way i'll be happy.

When do you think it's going to lower ?

Personne ne peut prédire cela.

"thirds rule strategy"

now can be googled

Same as @htooms - I bought Steem the other day (with some BTC leftovers from some other transactions) for 530 Satoshi per Steem.
As it seems now, I picked the right time to buy by pure luck, although I was thinking it would be wise to invest in it at that low price.

Regarding some predictions, it's really hard to say what is going to be. It seems like gambling to me. Despite that, personally, I think it would lower down again, but when, how much and for how long that's really hard to tell.

Never the less, I don't know where from did you took the chart above, which shows that Steem already reached the price of 3,000 Satoshi per Steem, but if you are interested in buying some, on Livecoin Exchange you may still find it at price around 1,600 Satoshi.

Current Steem Price on Livecoin around 1600 Satoshi
