Serious question:
- Should we still consider Steem an alt coin?
- What is the threshold to not be an alt coin?
I'm with you though. I think the week-over-week activity and user growth shows the amazing trajectory and promise of the Steemit platform.
Cheers,
That's a very good question! In the past, I think that 'altcoin' was used to refer to anything that wasn't bitcoin. That said, there has to come a point during the growth of the crypto market and the blockchain movement where it isn't just about Bitcoin. It is about so much more, Steem being one of the very important pieces. Definitely needs to be considered! :)
User growth could as well be bots and multiple accounts, steemit is yet to find away to effectively distinguish the two in their analysis. While I believe in steemit hugely, everything in the end boils down to probably. I'd never put all my eggs in one basket
Yeah, bots are a big concern for sure, which is one of the reasons people are running into signup problems, since currently Steemit Inc is verifying accounts manually to ensure they aren't bots, which is not scalable at all. Some questions definitely need to be answered and hopefully my 90% crypto allotment to Steem doesn't turn out bad for me!
