What Cryptocurrency Algorithmic Trading Bots are out there? Looking for the best one (if exists)!

in #trading8 years ago

I have been looking for quite a bit for the "best" cryptocurrency trading bot out there, but I must admit that it turned out to be a complicated quest! The aim would be to generate income with automatic trading of cryptocurrencies, while carrying on with our life in the "fiat currency world". I have explored many websites that offer automated trading online such as Haasbot, Cryptotrader, BTCRobot and Tradewave, but for some reason (probably wrong!) I would rather use a software running on my computer.
Therefore I started playing with some of the software’s out there! This is cool stuff, but like many open source projects are not for the faint-hearted! You have to be ready to accept bugs, crashing software’s and potential cryptocurrencies loss (although most of the programs have a trial mode - so luckily only theoretical losses!). This post aim to inform as well as understand what people are using in the real world, so please let me know what you think! Moreover, I have absolutely no idea on which one is the best program, so please make up your own mind and if you decide to use any of these program is at your own risk!

Cryptocurrency Algorithmic Trading Bot Software’s - Open Source projects:

Gekko

Gekko is an open source platform for automating trading strategies over cryptocurrency markets. Gekko allows you to create your own trading strategies using technical analysis (TA) indicators. Gekko also comes with a set of example strategies such as DEMA, RSI and CCI which allows you to start/test gekko immediately. This is my screenshot the first time I run Gekko! Now is running in dummy mode... I'll let you know if it gets it right!

Zenbot

Zenbot is open-source trading software which allows high-frequency trading and supports multiple cryptocurrencies. Via API can obtain informations from multiple exchange (e.g. Kraken, Poloniex, etc). It also allows backtesting your trade strategy to make sure you get it right when running with real money! I have not tried zenbot yet, but here is a screenshot from the github.

Tribeca

Tribeca is a cryptocurrency market making trading bot with web client, backtester, and supports direct connectivity to several cryptocoin exchanges. On their Github developers claim that Tribeca can react to market data by placing and canceling orders in under a millisecond. I am far from being an expert in market making trading strategy, but I guess it is worth trying it!

Blackbird
Blackbird is an exchange arbitrage trading bot programmed in C++. As far as I understand this software aim to obtain profit from temporary price differences between different exchanges.

Pytrader
pytrader is a cryptocurrency trading bot that uses machine learning to predict price movements at confidence intervals. It is programmed to work on the poloniex.com cryptocurrency platform. According to the Github the project is currently frozen.
