Tarık Akan was born on December 13, 1949 in Istanbul. In the competition of Sound Magazine, he was selected first and entered the cinema. He graduated from Yildiz Technical University, Mechanical Engineering and Journalism Institute. His father is retired.
In 1991, he established the Private Stone College by taking Stone Private Elementary School, which he had read earlier. After the death of Aziz Nesin, his son Ali Nesin took over his presidency of Nesin Foundation.
In the summers of Bodrum Akyarlar, he restored a Greek house made of stone and turned it into a summer house. In 2002, he published a book entitled "Mothers have lice in my head".
He died on September 16, 2016 in Istanbul.
