This mosque, Ankara's showcase mosque stands proudly in the middle of city (Çankaya). Despite being constructed in the twentieth century it is still as breathtakingly beautiful and impressive as the old Ottoman built mosques which inspired its design. Looking at the facade of the mosque, the meticulous detail and symmetry is really a credit to its builders and the city itself. It is located near the transport hub of the city, Kizilay and is easily accessible. Entrance is free and it is a must-see for visitors to the city and lovers of Islamic architecture. Although stunning inside it still has a peaceful and serene aura. Of course, it is absolutely packed during Friday prayers so a visit then is not advisable. I love this mosque. İt's fantastic.
