Top 5 Distinct Turkish Desserts

in #tr6 years ago

A short time ago I shared some Turkish Meals that are distinct with their taste and based in Turkey..

I thought it is also necessary to talk about Turkish desserts as they are so many!

Here I start,

1- Kemalpasa

It's originally from Bursa, a city in Turkey. The dessert takes it's name from the town of Bursa called Mustafa Kemal Pasa. Which actually was given after the founder of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to the town as to honour the town. This dessert is a kind of cheese dessert and as this cheese is originally produced in that town, kemalpasha dessert first came out there, since 1960. The secret of this dessert is the unsalted cheese it contains. This cheese is produced from the milk of cows which are raised in the town of Mustafakemalpasha.

2- Kunefe

Kunefe is some type of sweet cheese pastry, it is not as sweet as Baklava which actually can attract many people as for some baklava and similar desserts are too sweet to eat. Kunefe has two layers of shredded kadayif dough, which is combined with butter and a special cheese between them. It is mostly served with pistachio powder on the top or a dollop of ice cream or Turkish kaymak, clotted cream.

3- Sutlac

Creamy, intense, and melting in your mouth, this traditional Turkish rice pudding.. It is a superb example of Turkey's rich kitchen and countless beautiful desserts..

5- Baklava

Baklava is arguably the most delicious Turkish dessert, also; it has a very high reputation in all over the world. It does not need an explanation, but as a preference I prefer the one with the pistachio over the one with walnut. Many countries claim that Baklava belongs to their cuisine whereas, the name is Turkish and it was first created during Ottoman Empire.
