Çizgili sırtlan diğer sırtlanlardan daha zarif bir vücut yapısına sahiptir. 110 cm uzunluğa ve 40–50 kg ağırlığa ulaşan kilosuyla diğer sırtlan türlerinden daha farklıdır. 
Anadolu’daki popülasyonu tam olarak bilinmese de, yine soyu tükenme tehlikesi geçiren bir başka tür olarak listemizde yer alıyor.
