That's a line from a podcast of Entrepreneurs On Fire that I heard recently. It was part of an ad, but of course, we can learn from everything, can’t we?
We usually have to accept that it's very rare for any of us to ever reach the "top" spot. That being said, we don't have to sink into despair either, which is what I would have done in the past.
As a teenager, pursuing multiple interests, and as a young adult, devoting myself to my university studies, one of my biggest demotivators was the realisation that I could be “good” at something, but I’d never be the best.
I picked up several skills but dropped them the moment they got a little bit tough, which is one of my regrets to this day.
What I realised was that my mindset was holding me back. Instead, I had to think: what am I good at? And, more importantly, how can I get better at it?
If the answer to the first question is I'm good at nothing, then that's also not a reason to give up. Figure out what you can be good at, and go ahead and pick it up. In my previous post, I wrote about always learning. And I think that goes perfectly with today's thought.
