Big Cats and Buddhist Monks in Kanchanaburi, 2011 [Time machine]

Tigers

Some much larger cats than yesterdays post. Plus no words can truly describe, other than seeing these images of the #Kanchanaburi #Tiger #Temple from 11 years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Temple seems to say it is no longer open. There was controversy from somewhere. Yet it would seem to still be a going concern from a quick search on Google. Perhaps at a scaled down level, as there must still be a temple and a place for the cats rescued from #poachers. Problems always arise from over breeding, over stacking a good thing and greed for profits. #Crypto and #Web3 could learn from it 🤓 🤑 🙄.

Perhaps somebody can point towards more information in the comments. My first trip to this location was even earlier, around 2005. Back then, there were few tigers, a temple, and a disused or quarried area to keep the big cats. Visitors were in small groups at a time, led by the monks. 2005 I was very lucky to have walked along with a tame fully grown adult tiger here. he was about 4 feet tall and 8 feet long.

Would I do that again? Mmmmmmm

Yeah of course. Can it still be done? Maybe someone reading this knows, and comments below.

By the time I got to see it again 11 years ago, things had already moved along. There were more cats, and more tourists. These pictures are from that time.

Good Day! Tiger Time ...
