I saw a comedian back in the 90's make a very good point...We spend $20 Billion a year on the war on drugs. The cartels make $10 Billion...pay the cartels $15 Billion not to ship drugs. It cuts their risk and overhead plus a $5 Bill increase in profits. We save $5 Bill AND no more drugs! Not sure of the exact figures but the principle is the same!
