Facebook has once again been found to have been seriously deficient in it's handling of it's user's private data. A database has been found, unsecured, online that contains over 400 million records of private information and phone numbers about facebook users - tied to their facebook profile IDs. The potential for exploitation of this data is massive and causes us to consider how many groups and individuals have access to such data and how they are manipulating us and our world with it.
Many alternatives exist to the large, corrupt corporate entities that many are entrusting their most private data to - I recommend checking out the more integrity based solutions such as those found on the Steem blockchain, my own site ureka.org (https://www.ureka.org) and minds.com. There is no need for us to continue making billionaires even richer when their entire business model revolves around exploiting humanity and when alternatives already exist.
Wishing you well,
Ura Soul

i am 2,5 yrs on steem never hacked - 2,5 yrs on facebook hacked twice, even though my Steem account contains actual money.
Yes, using Facebook is a bit like visiting people in jail - except they could leave but won't because they've gotten comfortable with the 'security'.
good comparison.
Looking at this or this scenario, that means your private information is not safe in facebook hands as it can br highly tempered anytime which is not good. The figure is too much 400 million
I guess facebook should do something about it because it this is tarnishing their image and reputation and also making people to lose trust in them
There are already a huge list of reasons not to trust Facebook - they are a fundamentally corrupt platform.
How do I know if I'm hacked on FB?
Because you have an FB account? ;)
I don't think there is a tool to check if your account is one that is included in this latest leak yet.
skytrex: It is easy. When anyone looks at my FB pictures, they also look at the background. The vehicles I drive, the clothing brands I like, the political views I support, the food I eat, the music I like, the information I share, the views I promote...etc.
Privacy is a very important thing. A company has the responsibility to protect it. If the company leaks privacy due to interest problems or negligence, it is extremely unfair to the user.

I guess even mine is leaked.

Guess we will never know if our accounts got hacked
Yes we can know if we have been hacked. If my wife rather look at her FB and all the things her "friends" post, but has no time to talk to me, and look at my eyes, her brain was hacked. If your friend which you are having lunch with is looking at FB rather than enjoying the atmosphere of the restaurant, the artistic arrangement of the dish, the decor, architecture, the background music. etc...FB and all other Centralized platforms have hacked your friends brain.
