I am in bed already, it's around 9:30 pm, I want to write so I open inleo, click publish and start writing, that where we are right now. I am been discovering a new country for just a little over 24h, settled in a new place for 2 nights and tomorrow I have to move again. Changing location is fun, I enjoy it because it is dynamic but I also like staying for longer at one place to rest properly.
That is not going to be the case for the coming weeks, I have 3 more locations to visit, one maybe two flights soon, I will need to adapt to a new environment again and that is part of what I like about traveling, working and improving my adaptation skill, at this point it is pretty close to second nature.
My mini checklist:
- Got paperwork for immigration? ->Check
- Esim covering this part of the world? -> Check
- Exchange some local currency for small purchase -> Check
- Got your route memorized to get to your next accommodation -> Yes
- Setup for local ride-sharing app -> Well little problem this time getting SMS confirmation :/
- Find food -> you kidding me?
In reality there probably already a lot of extra things going on inside my brain but they didn't pop up when writing this article.
Before writing I was going over my WhatApp messages, replying to people and then I used the excuse to myself that I only have 5% of battery (which is true) to charge my phone far away from my laptop so I can focus a bit and post an article before leaving for dreamland.
This month went fast
Well technically speaking not as fast a February but maybe time is just relative.
At the beginning of October I was still in France, doing my final preparation for my coming trip to Asia, removing a few more items from my bag in order to get the minimum weight I could get away with.
Then Hivefest happened and it has been one week already
Then I left Malaysia for a new place, following my plan and adding a few things along the way.
I believe I am learning along the way, just as with any experience but this time I feel like something is a bit different, like I am at a point where I can fork and decide on a new path for my life. I already had a sense of what I wanted but it is even clearer as I move forward in the "right" direction.
I am very grateful for a month full of surprises, full of good food and amazing people.
I wonder what November will be about, still two of those months left in the year, anything could happen.
Anyway big thanks to the universe for allowing me on this amazing path, full of light and joy. Keep it coming :)
Walt.

PS: I needed a photo so this is me on a bike on my path :)

Sounds like a fun journey, I wonder how you decide how and where to go next? I also spent some time moving around but I tried to spend a month or at least two weeks in each destination and I would follow the music scene to connect with people I was interested in.
Now I’m in Tokyo. Always welcome!
What’s this “right” direction look like? 😞
Hello, I usually have a general plan that is define a few months before leaving. My first destination is usually where I can fly cheaper to from Europe to either a new country or one I like as a hub base for travel like KL or Singapore. From there I can fly to anywhere in Asia for cheaper and only a few hours of travel.
During planning first I try to select country I want to go to again and new countries I want to see and start doing a general routing, I might by the first few flight tickets in between countries to facilitate visa/visa exempt process and leave the trip inside the country blanck so I can adjust, just doing my entry town and probable exit down, I might follow a direction south to north or west to east or something just make my way slowly around in order to make it to my flight out of the country.
Nice I love Japan, haven't been there since 2019 but probably will come back at some point, enjoy your trip, my new one is coming to an end as I plan on flying home before Xmas. Will do more posts about the trip, I have a lot of private backlog journal that need to be posted.
Have a safe journey!
Thanks, always try my best to stay safe and to enjoy my time in a new place!
Traveling is awesome, right? Have fun!
Indeed, once you started it is hard to stop.
Sounds like October is treating you well & always have a safe journey & flights !
