Unkind feelings

It's summer and many people are on holiday and or doing "summery things". I should do but it's funny how a lot of these are not hearing-impaired-happy.
Summer is defo not the best time not to hear.

What do people do during summer?

1. Concerts, festivals, etc

These are mostly out of question for me. Music sounds a bit weird now and I just can't enjoy it as much. But of course, festivals are about the experience not necessarily seeing the bands you love. I get that but how much can one experience an experience when you can't really hear much of what people say in all the loud environment. It's weird how much music matters in connecting people and the looks you get when you say that you don't listen to music.

1. Pools, sea, lakes, spas..

It's HOT. I mean, it's too hot! Of course any large body of water looks like heavan! A weekend at the sea?! Count me in!..or wait, not as I can;t go in with my aid, the sand gets in it and might break it and without it I can barely hear what you people are saying. It's not all bad, it can be a silent, calming day on the beach with a book.
But still, that is not necessarily my idea of FUN.

So when you take this in consideration, one like me, feels that his options are limited and that his enjoyment opportunities are nill. Can't really help it to feel a bit jealous or even worse--- angry -- at all the insta/fb post about your wonderful, OMG!, festival experience and how the water was just perfect today. That's a given and really, I don't even feel bad. The initial reaction is natural for the human nature.

But, I am a big believer that what defines you as a person is what you do next. You take control and you chose your reaction. And as I always say, being angry is useless, like holding hot coal and hoping someone else gets burned. No way.

It's a daily exercise in remembering that this is not against me and that I too have my own ways to enjoy life and summer. After all , I can swim too, I can understand rhythm and sometimes, I can even dance. The only reaction is to be happy for my friends who can go and easy and do these stuff. Why not? I should be happy for them anyway and maybe we can work something up and do some of these things together as much as possible.

It can always be worse and it can always be better but maybe it will never be like this summer.
