RE: Tips from uncle G-dog - Build your hive brand with ease!

in #thoughts4 years ago

Yeah some solid tips here and I'm honoured to be floating at the bottom of that engagement league screenshot there haha! It's pretty cool to get involved with though, I do like the gamification things going on with Hive, including @hivebuzz too which keeps you motivated as you earn badges just by being around!

I think one thing I've noticed is that there is a balance to be had. I've been burning out since finishing 3rd a couple of weeks ago and think that's where the line needs to be drawn for sure. There's also the fun element too, the good thing about communities is it allows like minded people to come together which is a cause for more natural engagement!

I would have liked to show everyone's name in the league but the image wouldn't let me...The link is there though and anyone going there will see it. Everyone in the EL is a star and it's a great way of keeping track If only more saw it that way and got involved...Getting onto that list, in the top 30 or so, is an achievement.

I hope many see my post, I guess that depends on if it get's reblogged or not. We'll see. We all need to be pushing engagement though, and helping the new people out.

Thanks for commenting and keep up the good work.

Thanks mate, it still surprises me that I have been up in the top 30 for most of the last 12 months because I don't feel like I am here that much but I guess the numbers tell a different story LOL!

Well, engaging is socialising and I always refer to Hive as a social media site - we are all people at the end of the day and have been doing my best to welcome new folks on when I see some reblogs from others. It makes a big difference I can tell you.

Keep the good work too champ!

P.S. Did you have a chance to go through those books I mentioned from our last convo?

That's the thing, it isn't that difficult really, engagement I mean, and the effort pays off.

I've got a to-do list and they are on that list. Believe it or not I actually have a job other than hive and sometimes I have to do it. Lol. I'll get to it though, I wrote them down with a couple others people suggested.

🤣 Ditto mate! I am grateful to still have a job at this time and even though we're still on Hive, that has to get done first and foremost! Think I'll have to train my body to need 4 hours sleep and have more time in the day to get things done - you may have heard of Tim Ferriss "4 hour work week" if not... add it to the list haha

Tell you what though, one of the best things I bought this year was a whiteboard for my room. It's kept me on top of things that I need to do on a regular basis and saves me having to remember all these things in my head. Great stress reliever!

Oh yeah, I have white board walls at the office, here, my wife would kill me if I put one up...I need one though. I have a couple in the workshop which I use for my gun stuff all the time.

I am on reduced hours and pay at work, but I still have my job to do so...I shouldn't spend so much time on hive. You know, I wrote over 4200 words for hive today alone. Three posts. I must be mad...Or have a lot to say? Lol. I also made almost 100 comments today.

Haha, whiteboards are great, if ever I meet someone, I'll be insisting on a whiteboard straight off the bat 🤣

Jesus, 4,200 words! That's an impressive haul! I have only written a couple of monster posts like that but they take me over a week to write. I'm challenging myself to write a post each day and been trying out the "Ask the Hive" community. It's not something I'm used to but the best way of learning is going out your comfort zone a little bit hey!

Yeah, it's a lot. I post twice a day and wrote about 200-2400 normally...Posted 3 today though, big ones. I write fast though.
