After a near death, violent situation I experienced some time ago, someone told me
"these are the crucibles where your character is formed."
That stuck with me. It is so true. Tough times build character and allows us to reevaluate our priorities.

That sounds like a hard, but interesting story.
I have been in a couple near death, not too many violent situations. I ma guessing that it can go either way to be a victim or survivor mentality.
