The Marine Memoirs - Day 018

Day 18
2009-5-13

Today didn’t start off all that well; there was no hot water, and the internet center we usually use has been shut down, due to the fact that some heavy wanted to move into that particular tent. We were told to be back by 07:00 for some reason, which only gave us a limited time to eat. We were all forced to walk to the motor pool, which is a good three miles… for absolutely no reason! We showed up, and literally sat around for hours... again for no reason whatsoever. As soon as we arrived, I immediately proceeded to take my blouse off. The mascot sent a junior Marine over to ask me to put my blouse back on, because I guess she was too scared to ask me herself. They wanted all the Marines to put their blouses back on, while the heavies and the mascots useless asses sat in an air cooled tent. The mascot asked me why I wasn’t trying to redeem myself, and although she definitely does not rate an answer, I informed her that one has to do something wrong in order to seek out redemption. My buddy and I picked up a whole bunch of free items from the free station, and walked all around the base until finally we were picked up by some awesome civilians who drove us back to our tent. We slept for a while in some ridiculous heat, and later woke up to the sound of screaming. A whole bunch of Marines were reprimanded for rolling their sleeves and wearing white socks. I’m going to chow now, and pray that this state of hypocrisy will soon come to an end, but before I go, I’ll end today’s entry with a little saying of mine. A compilation of words I do believe will compliment today’s ridiculousness very well actually. And if you too ever have a day like I’ve had today, simply utter off my saying aloud to remind yourself of the truth… which is that common sense only makes sense to those who make sense.

I’ve decided to crowd source the ever irksome task of editing and proofreading my book with you guys and gals, so please feel free to make any corrections or suggestions you’d like.
