Malayalee Sports & Cultural Association Inc (MSCA) has announced the IHNA Brimbank Cup T20 Tournament for the year. Twelve teams have registered for the event, which will be spread over two months and played in three grounds. The tournament was inaugurated by MSCA President Ciju Joseph and Secretary Jerry James. Varghese John from IHNA greeted the players and wished them all the best. The matches will be played on Sundays and final is scheduled to be played on March 28 with a family day event organised by the club.
MSCA is a community centered non-profit established in 2010 by a group of young families from the Brimbank/ Melton councils to promote a healthy lifestyle through sports as well as the traditional arts and culture of Kerala. (Article continues after photo gallery)
Based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, MSCA has established a Cricket Club, Volleyball Club, Badminton Club and Karate Club within the Deer Park/ Cairnlea area and developed strong memberships over the last nine years in these sporting clubs through local community-based partnerships. They have over 300 members from more than seven cultural and ethnic backgrounds (including India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and China) participating in these activities.
MSCA established the Brimbank Strikers Cricket Club in 2015 under its umbrella for cricket players of all communities.
Robert Bruce Reserve, Deer Park is the home ground of Brimbank Strikers Cricket Club. The facilities are shared by Brimbank Strikers in summer and the Albanvale Football Club in winter.
