I gotta say, I feel like I don't fundamentally disagree with the entire post, but when you start saying that "men are braver" , "they are unique", "they put things on the table", I'm starting to think that maybe you live on your own planet with some men I don't know.
You fail to credit the multitudes of smart, strong, creative women. Sure, there are differences between men and women, but you're just encouraging women to fit a mold with which you're comfortable.
I'm all for the classic, romantic gender roles, but if you've ever left your nest, you'd see that the world is full of beautiful men and women filling many different roles that don't fit this stereotype.
I'm sorry that you seem to feel offended. That wasn't meant to discredit women, just to celebrate men ;) I didn't say with any word that women aren't creative or smart. Did I?
I didn't credit women because this is a post for boys (see headline ;)). Maybe in my next one I will celebrate girls, who knows.
I've actually "left my nest" (like you call it) a couple of times, have been living in four different countries already, speak their languages fluently, traveled a lot, visited several continents and met uncountable of these beautiful people you mention there. I've probably left home more often than I've been there actually :-) So that shouldn't be any criteria...
I fully agree with your point that there are infinite roles we can fill. What I wanted to point out are classical gender-specific and lovely differences, no stereotypes.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your point of view :)
