I've lived in big cities for most of my life, and loved being in the middle of all the action, but at some point - I don't know exactly when - I started to notice how the never-ending noise was starting to negatively impact my mental well-being.
I suppose as one gets older, the body and mind transition to a different mode that requires a less noisy environment.

Personally, I would never live in New York. In short, there is little to no freedom in NY. Laws about sodas, guns, and every other thing imaginable limit people's individual liberties.

Unless all diners look the same in the US, I feel like I've seen this place in like 100 movies and TV shows. I could swear there was an episode of The Punisher in there. I'm sure I've also seen Luke Cage, Denzel Washington and even Sam and Dean Winchester siting on that very spot you're at :)
That diner is a cool place to shoot some video. Neat colors. Never been to New York. My wife has been several times, so perhaps I can convince her to take me along sometime, haha. (She's a theater nut).
I wouldn't know because I haven't live there.
