Cut of the week #4 by @privat. Featuring three of the HARDEST grinding rappers on Steem!

January is now almost completely behind us and the cut is still moving forward as the biggest unofficial hip hop community on Steemit! This is my weekly newsletter to help us keep together. To finish of the first month of me doing these letters I want to take us back to my roots in the cut. This weeks three features I feel are part of our back bone and they are some of the hardest grinders on Steemit. They have basically been rapping on all of challenges here since I joined and they deserve a place here in the first month of me doing these. Next week I’ll dig deeper amongst all of the new talents here I promise. I want to suprise you sometimes too! 

Before everything though I want to share two special tracks with you, in case you missed them like me. After going through @jamesgetsit’s blog today, wow, this guy is producing quality raps faster than I can listen to them.(To be fair Dsound has been working slow for me today.. Love that platform though and really hope it works better soon). I’ve chosen two favorites this time because both are full songs that I will listen to many more times. This, I believe, is exactly what Steemit and Dsound needs and we should all thank @jamesgetsit for this! First song relates to the Trump presidency but if you’re sensitive to political rap or bored of him the second song should be for everyone.

Raps of the week

"By the pussy" - Political Rap / Full Song (2 verses)

This song I really feel could go viral at any point. The message is still relevant in my opinion and the delivery is timeless. I’ve always loved well thought out political rap and I think hip hop has a lot of “fight the power” in its core.

I also think political rap gives a great opportunity for non personal beefs, what do you think? Picking on the president should always be allowed though he should be above that, although I’m not too sure about the current one..

Breathe - Spiritual Rap

This is the song I’m listening to as I’m writing this post. Even though I’m a bit late this just brings me to a calm place like “there’s no time”. Every line resonates with my spiritual frequencies and I think they might for most of us who really listens to it? The beat makes the lyrics even more magical as well but don’t take my word for it, please listen to it and let him know what you think!

There’s been a lot of action at the “SMA” and “The cut” discord channels and from my understanding there’s going to be more and bigger hip hop collabs between Steemians in the near future. I’ll probably add a segment specifically for greatest collaboration next episode. To inspire everyone to actually reach out to each other. Basically everything interesting is done together! Let me know what you want to see more or less of too and I’ll try my best to keep this interesting. Now let’s talk about the HARDEST grinding rappers on Steem!

1. @kenentertainment

K.E.N/Killed Every Notebook, what can I say, this guy’s got no boundaries! But he’s always first on @termitemusic’s worldwide cypher spitting paper after paper. (Also, he’s even better when he’s drunk freestyling) This week has been no different from any other so he’s released a bunch of stuff to choose from:

• “K.E.N. - I spit venom(Music Video) Produced by @termitemusic, single from our collab EP "I spit venom"” - “I spit venom, my fangs rip denim”! Ken showing us he’s way passed perfection. If your looking for some radio rap you should probably turn on the radio instead. This is raw venom!
  
  
• “K.E.N. - I once was a mammal (Music Video) Beat produced by @fresheiremusic!!!” - Best described in @kenentertainment’s own words: “This song is 100% steemian made! Steemit rapper with a steemit producer, we need more collabs like this!” and “remember this is as low budget as it gets, strait gutta and gully!”
  
  
• “Rap Challenge week 21 feat. My youngest daughter aka Alison!” - Haha you’ve got to watch this until the end, no clickbait! Or yea that’s basically all I do here but at least to others who deserve it.. This is a hard entry to @rondonson’s latest rap challenge!

2. @redsfallin

Wow @redsfallin and his ‘one's perspective’ is really alienating in a good way. To be fair the first thing you’ll notice is probably his somewhat weird flow. If you’re a true fan of the art though I’m sure you’ll find he weighs this up with an always interesting rhyme scheme and deep topics. I also feel like he has improved his flow a lot since he got here and I hope he can gets some better recording equipment soon to help him get some higher quality sound for more to appreciate what he’s doing. @redsfallin ironically stick out by trying to be one with everything! Here’s some of his posts this week:

• “TermiteMusic World Wide Cypher!! Hoodroulette-R.E.D.-Warped Out Mirrors!!” - Here’s where I’ve spotted R.E.D the most. @termitemusic’s epic worldwide cyphers! And this week was no different. A great example of his unique style and a somewhat mesmerizing flow in my opinion. Read along with the lyrics and enjoy One’s perspective!
  
  
• “{Dsound Exclusive}-R.E.D./Reigning Bells” - @redsfallin shows a new side of himself with this dubstep ish arrangement that I had to show. I’m sure it works well to listen to this whilst reading some of the poetry he’s got on his blog!
  
  
• “{DTube Exclusive}@rondonson Rap Challenge Week 21/Riggysfort-RisingGoodHop-R.E.D.-Mental” - Also entered the rap challenge this week with a slightly more basic flow. But I feel like he’s more on the beat on this time which is nice too. Check it out, give him feedback and vote on everything you feel deserve it as usual!

3. @enginewitty

This hard grinding crypto savage from thealliance on Steemit likes to go under the name X40L1N. Usually a bit too grimey for my taste but under the scary effects on his voice there’s usually some pretty relevant lyrics. And I know he’s got a good fan base here already so he’s definitely doing something good! Overall he’s been showing of his rap skills on all kinds of challenges since I got here and this weeks posts offers a good idea of who @enginewitty is:

• “Roadkill Maggot - Original Cut by X40L1N (WARNING - EXPLICIT)” - Really, I regret starting to watch the video for this despite the warnings. It’s just dogs ripping cats apart so you’re way better of just listening to the track on soundcloud and reading the lyrics to it! He’s really getting involved in one of the biggest controversies on Steemit right now with this one.
  
  
• “5 Fun Facts About @enginewitty” - Perfect! Let X40L1N introduce himself with these five fun facts!
  
  
• “Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle (Karaoke Promo)” - Aaand a wild card, just because I love karaoke. What better way to get to know someone right?!
