One of the stops on our river cruise through the Bordeaux region of France was a traditional Bastide town market in Libourne. The market had a little bit of everything, from fresh fruit and vegetables to clothing, hats, and the colorful baskets in the first photo.
There was an indoor market as well where fresh meat and seafood were for sale. The fish above were particularly impressive. We got to taste a sampling of cheeses, charcuterie, and chocolates (my three favorite words starting with “c”). 😋🧀🥓🍫

I love your 3 favorite C words! Your photos show some of my favorite things about France!
I’m sitting in Maryland tonight drinking wine from Bordeaux and enjoying the 3 C’s!
Ok...you convinced me. Wine for me, too. Chocolate...hmmmm. There may be a Hershey bar left from the last time the kids made s'mores. Does that count as chocolate?
I love the baskets and the veggies, great photos!
Thanks!
My pleasure!
Next time I'm in France I promise to get out of Paris! This is inspiring, thanks for sharing!
Paris is very cool, but I enjoyed the small towns as well.
I guess those baskets are made of platics. We have similar ones here in Ghana made of wood.happy weekend dear
I think they were made from reeds of some type. They didn’t look plastic. Happy weekend to you too friend!
Wow, so many colours! Love the basket and peppers shots.
Thanks!
