The conversation between my eldest bother and I this morning went like this
Me: Happy thanksgiving!!!
Eldest brother: Ekpen, Doo. Happy thanksgiving to you.
However, the events that followed later in the day would have been enough to convince myself that there are no reasons to be thankful. I am still thankful and wish to join all those celebrating today to say
Four Main Things and People I Am Thankful For
My Existence
I am thankful to the one who created me (God Almighty)for the breath of life that I still have. If not for His love, mercy and compassion, I would have transitioned and maybe long forgotten.
Family and Good Friends
Without the support of my family and good friends (including those whom I've met on the steem blockchain), I wouldn't be where I am today. My indebtedness to them is great.
The Steem Blockchain
It would have been impossible to express myself on the steem blockchain if it never existed. For creating the steem ecosystem, I am most grateful to @ned, other members of the Steemit Inc. team, all Steem witnesses who secure the blockchain, whales, orcas, fellow dolphins, minnows and redfish. We all work on the steem blockchain through posting and curating content.

Happy thanksgiving. There are so many things to be thanksful for on here, out there and our lives in general.
For me, everyday should be a thanksgiving to the Almighty God for all His uncountable blessings and benefits to me and every other persons. However, I appreciate the Americans for having a special day set aside for thanksgiving. How I wish Nigeria as a nation can as well set aside a day to thank God for what He alone is doing in the country, it will be very wonderful to have indeed. Well, I say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I agree with you on this, absolutely. Setting aside a special day for thanksgiving serves as a reminder to people its importance.
I don't think Nigerians should do the same things Americans do, although whatever is good is worthy of emulation. Remember that the different churches do harvest thanksgiving towards the end of the year. So a significant number of Nigerians still celebrate thanksgiving, though in the churches. Family reunion too, a key aspect of America thanksgiving is taken seriously by some Nigerians who reunite during Christmas & new year holidays.

Been thankful is one of the main ingredients to win people over. This I imbibed a long time ago. And to be honest with you, ma'am, it has really shaped my life positively.
However, this is my first of knowing that there is something called a Thanksgiving day. This platform is a great educational tool for without being here, I wouldn't have know.
Gonna keep this date in my mind and will pass it to people around me and my generation unborn.
