The Great King Mengrai Monument

Not a lot of people have been able to see this marvelous monument of King Meng Rai at the center of Chiang Rai, Thailand. This statue actually pays tribute to King Meng Rai who discovered Chiang Rai in 1262. A lot of activities have been held in this place and most of the people are visiting for tribute while most foreigners are visiting to get a photo of this wonderful place.

At the back of the statue lies a grand-like structure in gold that is quite mesmerizing.

I would really recommend you to visit the place if you want to visit Thailand. It is located at the center of Chiang Rai and is open 24 hours daily. Here is a glimpse of the google map:

Not only that, there is a free tour available at the back which is done two times daily.
