วัดเจดีย์หลวงวรวิหาร เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ มีชื่อเรียกหลายชื่อ ได้แก่ ราชกุฏาคาร,วัดโชติการาม สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัยของพระเจ้าแสนเมืองมา กษัตริย์ลำดับที่ ๗ แห่งราชวงศ์มังราย ไม่ปรากฏปีที่สร้างแน่ชัด สันนิษฐานว่าวัดแห่งนี้น่าจะสร้างในปี พ.ศ. ๑๙๓๔ วัดเจดีย์หลวงเป็นพระอารามหลวงแบบโบราณ มีการบูรณะมาหลายสมัย ปัจจุบันมีขนาดความกว้างด้านละ ๖๐ เมตร เป็นองค์พระเจดีย์ที่มีความสำคัญที่สุดองค์หนึ่งในเชียงใหม่ ใครชอบไหว้พระทำบุญ ก็อย่าลืมแวะมาทำบุญที่วัดเจดีย์หลวงกันนะคะ
