Hello, Steemit friends! Today I would like to show you some nice pictures I took when I went to visit a great spot. This place is a Buddhist temple which is called Wat Arun or Wat Jang in Thai. It’s part of Thai national heritage, so beautiful and charming for Thai people, too! I would like to tell you a little bit more about this place.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Full name) or Wat Arun (Thai people call it Wat Jang, which means early morning) is really very important for Thai people, It’s a testimony of our history from the seventeenth century. The area of this temple is close to the Chaopraya river in Bangkok and there used to be a palace close to it but Thai King Rama I moved it to the other side of the river in the eighteenth century. It’s an important part of Thai culture and Thai people think it is a priceless temple for Thailand. It gave hope and promise of glory, just like the sun in the early morning. Arun means the early sun light in the morning or early sun shine.
On that day I went to visited it by accident, I took a boat trip to the temple from Pra Arthit pier and got out at Wat Arun pier. The one way ticket cost only 15 baht (0.5 USD). It was a wonderful day on the boat on the Chaopraya river, so many people on the boat but I felt pretty chilled, looking around the city and seeing the sun set from the river.
When I arrived there it was almost closes! Luckily, I could still check it out around the beautiful temple. This temple is very high, you can walk up there and look at the beautiful view around the area of the temple. On the wall of the temple you can see sculpture artwork with Thai patterns. It’s very charming. The temple was just renovated and it looks very white and clean, I read the news about it before. The temple is different than it was in the past and not all Thai people like its new looks.
Anyway, if you guys want to visit Wat Arun and look at the beautiful view close to Chaopraya river, I will give you the information how to get there!
• Open every day: 8am-6pm
• You can get there by BTS at BTS-Saphan Taksin Exit 2, then go to the Saton pier, buy the ticket to Wat Arun pier.

เที่ยววัดอรุณราชวรารามฯ ชมพระอาทิตย์ตกดินยามเย็นริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา
สวัสดีค่ะ ชาวไทย Steemit! วันนี้เราอยากให้เพื่อนๆได้ชมภาพสวยๆ ของสถานที่ที่เราได้ไปเยี่ยมชม คือ วัดอรุณหรือวัดแจ้ง ซึ่งเป็นวัดคู่บ้านคู่เมืองตั้งแต่สมัยอดีต และเป็นมรดกและสถาปัตยกรรมที่สวยงามของประเทศไทย และเป็นที่เคารพสักการะสำหรับคนไทยด้วยค่ะ
วัดอรุณราชวรารามราชวรมหาวิหาร (ชื่อเต็ม) หรือวัดอรุณ (หรือที่คนไทยเรียกอีกชื่อว่าวัดแจ้ง) วัดนี้มีความสำคัญมากๆสำหรับคนไทย มีเรื่องราวมากมายเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์ที่เราได้เรียนรู้และสืบทอดมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน วัดอรุณตั้งอยู่ใกล้ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ฝั่งกรุงธนบุรี กรุงเทพฯ ในอดีตเป็นวัดที่ตั้งอยู่ตรงกลางพระราชวัง และเคยเป็นที่ประดิษฐานของพระพุทธมหามณีรัตนปฏิมากร หรือ พระแก้วมรกต ชึ่งตอนนี้ถูกยายไปประดิษฐานที่วัดพระแก้วในปัจจุบัน และวัดอรุณเป็นวัดที่มีความสำคัญต่อพระมหากษัตริย์หลายๆพระองค์เป็นเวลานานในอดีต ตั้งแต่สมัยพระเจ้าตากสินได้สถาปนากรุงธนบุรีเป็นเมืองหลวง สมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น และสืบทอดมาเป็นมรดกของชาวไทยจนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ ถือเป็นวัดที่อยู่คู่บ้านคู่เมืองและเป็นสมบัติอันล้ำค่าสำหรับชาวไทย มีความเชื่อว่าถ้าใครได้ไป กราบไหว้ เคารพ สักการะ และขอพร ก็จะเป็นสิริมงคลต่อชีวิต ทำให้ชีวิตรุ่งโรจน์ สว่างไสวเหมือนชื่อวัด (อันนี้เป็นความเชื่อส่วนบุคคลนะคะ)
ในวันนั้นเราไปเยี่ยมเยือนที่นั่นโดยบังเอิญ เราได้นั่งเรือจากท่าเรือพระอาทิตย์ และไปลงที่ท่าเรือวัดอรุณเลยทีเดียว ค่าตั๋วโดยสาร ราคา 15 บาท เป็นวันที่สบายๆ นั่งเรือราคาประหยัด กินลมชมวิวชมริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาทั้งสองฝั่ง มองดูผู้คนรอบๆตัว และบรรยากาศรอบๆ ได้ชมอาทิตย์ใกล้จะตกดินในยามเย็นพอดี เป็นภาพความทรงจำที่สวยงามมากๆเลยค่ะ
เมื่อเราไปถึงที่นั่นวัดก็เกือบจะปิด แต่ก็ยังได้เดินชมรอบๆ วัดในยามเย็นก็สวยไปอีกแบบ วัดนี้สูงมากคุณสามารถขึ้นไปชมวิวที่นั่นได้ อากาศเย็นสดชื่นมากๆ วัดอรุณเป็นวัดที่มีความงดงามทั้งงานศิลปะและสถาปัตยกรรมที่แสดงถึงความเป็นวัฒนธรรมไทยในสมัยโบราญ แต่ว่าวิหารแห่งนี้เพิ่งบูรณะเสร็จสิ้นเมื่อไม่นานมานี้ (ใช้เวลาในการปรับปรุงบูรณะวัดทั้งหมด 5 ปี แล้วเสร็จเมื่อ ปี พ.ศ. 2560) ก็เป็นข่าวใหญ่ โด่งดัง ให้ได้พูดถึงกันหลายแง่มุม ว่ามีการบูรณะที่ผิดเพี้ยนไปจากเดิม ทั้งสีที่ดูขาวและสะอาดใหม่เอี่ยม และลวดลายที่แตกต่างไปจากเดิม เช่น จากยักษ์ที่เคยดูน่ากลัวก็กลายเป็นยักษ์การ์ตูน (อ่านมาจากข่าวค่ะ^^) ชาวไทยหลายท่านไม่ประทับใจกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงครั้งนี้เพราะทำให้ศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมทางด้านฝีมือไม่สวยงดงาม ขาดเสนห์และความขลังของสถาปัตยกรรมในสมัยอดีต แต่หลายคนก็ต้องยอมรับการบูรณะที่เปลี่ยนแปลงครั้งนี้ ตอนที่เราไปเยี่มชมคือหลังจากบูรณะเสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้วก็สวยดี แต่พอกลับไปดูของเก่าก็ต้องยอมรับว่ามันแตกต่างไปจากเดิมมากจริงๆ เอาเป็นว่าถ้าใครอยากไปเยี่ยมชมหลังการบูรณะวัดอรุณราชวราราม เพื่อไปกราบสักการะและขอพร และเที่ยวกินลมชมวิวนั่งเรือชมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา เราก็มีข้อมูลที่อาจจะเป็นประโยชน์ ในการเดินทางเล็กๆน้อยๆมาฝากค่ะ
• วัดเปิดให้บริการทุกวัน : 08.00 น. - 18.00 น
• คุณสามารถไปที่นั่นโดยรถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส ลงที่สถานีรถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอสสะพานตากสิน และทางออกที่ 2 จากนั้นไปเดินไปขึ้นเรือที่ท่าเรือสาทร ซื้อตั๋วโดยสารเลือกลงที่ท่าเรือวัดอรุณค่ะ

Long time I've not been to Wat Arun and in Bangkok as well, I always there to change plane. I miss it. BKK is big, noisy and whatever but it still a very nice place.

Thank you @mayasiam, for getting inspired by the banner, I use the silhouette of Wat Phra Keaw but both Arun and Phra Keaw are milestones of Thailand and most of the people will recognize it :)
I just gave it a shot and Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan is not as hard to pronounce as it seems, hehe. I love temples, they remind me of old silent lives. I think about it and its a bit tragic, there used to be places where people went to listen to themselves... Now people go places for exactly the opposite, to ignore themselves with outer noice. I enjoyed reading! Thank you
Sometimes I like to visit temples because I feel like it is some place where my mind can stay. It doesn't happen often though, because in Thailand temples are very different from the past, so many people want to go there. It's so loud and I can not find the place for my mind there anymore! พี่แนตลองไปวัดนี้ดููนะคะ สวยค่ะ คือครอบครัวชอบวัดมากๆ มีเท่าไรก็ทำบุญๆ อะไรๆก็วัด แถมยังชอบให้เราทำตามอีกก็เลยได้ไปวัดเป็นประจำอ่ะค่ะ ;)
