TGIF is the word. Finally it’s Friday!!! A short statement powerful enough to get the happiness hormones secreting fully.

For many people who have been having a hard week or have been working non-stop, it’s finally the weekend. The long awaited break! Whether you love your job or not, it’s the weekend, you get to go home and spend the hours and minute in whatever way you feel like! (Probably you may want to go in and work the weekends...LOL)
A disadvantage though is that the weekend is sporadic, it comes in and moves out so fast, we start wondering if we ever even had a break.
To consider an average Friday night, for most people it’s the official night out! Joining friends from work to hit that new bar down town, or to seeing a late night movie. So, practically you stay up so much you end up sleeping half of Saturday (with a hangover).
Pause…have you stopped to think that your weekend practically starts from Friday evening? The pace you set on that day determines a lot about how the weekend is going to be. For many people, their non-chalance behavior about the weekend ends up making it a weak end.
After, sleeping away half of Saturday, you most likely spend the rest of the day busy with cleaning, laundry and the likes, unless of course, you have a function to attend.
Again, it’s Saturday night, you spend it partying because you don’t have to get up early tomorrow. Subsequently, the pattern goes like that of Saturday. Or probably, you attend church, start packing your bag and laying out clothes for the week and within a few minutes you realize the weekend is over! Automatically, the week end becomes your weak end.
How? For a productive person who has been sweating it out all week, you have no plan for the forthcoming week, projects or works which has been abandoned and never thought of, are now back on your table to be tackled.
Have you stopped to think that over the weekend, you could have talked to a friend or colleague who is more experienced and gotten help over a cup of beer- you have fun, relax and get to discuss work.
You could have scheduled Saturday mornings for hitting the gym and kept that promise you made to yourself of keeping fit, that is only if you hadn’t drank yourself to stupor. For many people, they end up realizing a lot of productive things they could have done during the weekend only when it is over, but still they never seem to learn their lesson.
Your weekend is yours, plan it and structure it to your taste. You don’t have to deal with work over the weekend if you don’t want to. But, ensure you make it productive and you don’t end up at work on Monday in confusion or with a hangover… The weekend isn’t just a load of free time; it’s a time ticking on the clock.
Lost time is never found again
