Elon Musk has not only open sourced the Tesla patents for the sake of humanity but he also started SpaceX in the event that AI turns Terminator and tries to kill everyone and take over the planet. In a way we would be able to hitch a lift on SpaceX and get the heck out of here most likely to Mars, as this is the planet that Mr. Musk is trying to colonize. Musk says that AI is learning at a concerning rate and that he only invested in the now Google owned artificial intelligence company; DeepMind in order to keep an eye on the progress of this worrisome intelligence.
