The rebuilding of the third Jewish temple has a foundation that is built on controversy. Beginning with its assumed location and how this conflicts with the position of the dome of the rock. In the pursuit of testing and proving all things we need to start with the words of Christ. Jesus Christ prophesied that after His death, burial, and Resurrection that the temple of Herod would be destroyed completely.
Matt 24:1-2
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

If the wailing wall is the from Herod's temple, then the fulfillment of Christ's prophesy was not completely correct. However, with new discoveries concerning the actual location of Herod's temple then it was in fact completely destroyed confirming the Words of Christ.
If a third temple is built it will be by the plan man and not God. Believer's in Jesus Christ are the third temple, a temple of living stones for the presence of God.
1 Pet 2:4-5
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Do not be deceived, for when the third temple is build for there will be one seated that will proclaim to be god. Remember these things and being spiritually beware and prepared.
II Th 2:3-5
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
