Xbox One X / Project Scorpio (Price, Release Date, Specs and a Personal Opinion)

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

Summary

As most of you probably know Microsoft has announced the new Xbox called the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X was called project Scorpio and rumors have finally been answered on the E3 Game convention.

Microsoft has announed it's release date, price and some specs about the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X will use a custom GPU: 40 Radeon cores clocked at 1172 Mhz (6 teralows), it will also have 12GB GDDR5 Ram. This will all be needed to play games on 4K Ultra HD (4 times sharpes as Full HD). Luckly because of the compact cooling system within the Xbox One X it will be the smallest Xbox to date. The exact sizes however are not yet known.

If you are not really a fan of gamming (there is actually no reason to buy this then) you could also use it as an expensive Ultra HD player since it has a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Playback and a Premium Dolby Atmos sound.

You can Purchase the Xbox One X on the 7th of November this year for 499 dollar. The Xbox One S will be lowered in price to 249 Dollar.

Personal opinion

I wasn't exaclty thrilled to be honest I was expecting 4K gaming but in my opinion the price is a bit high for just playing games at a better quality.  To top it of we don't actually know which games (besides Minecraft and Ghost Recon Wildlands ) will support 4K gaming to experience this better quality and if you have a Full HD TV now you are actually forced to buy an Ultra HD one to experience it all.

I am not saying it has failed my expectations I am just saying I would have to invest a lot of money just to experience the full quality of Ultra HD gaming.
