ISRO is back to where it belongs. Bouncing back from its recent and rare failure, the Indian Space Research Organisation on January 12 successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C40) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The PSLV, flying for the 42nd time, successfully placed a Cartosat-2 series satellite into sun-synchronous orbit. This was India’s hundredth satellite. Current ISRO chief AS Kiran Kumar prepares to hand over the mantle to K Sivan.
