Is It A Tree Or A Cell Phone Tower?

in #technology6 years ago

This Tree Doesn't Look Like the Others
On a recent trip that I took to Lake Tahoe, California USA, I recall looking around the beautiful scenery and seeing something that looked quite odd. The Lake Tahoe area is filled with luscious green trees, beautiful rocks, steep mountains, and of course the blue lake. However, one tree in particular looks a little odd. Upon closer investigation, the color of the tree cannot quite match those around it. Oddly enough the tree seem to get larger at the top which was unusual. In fact, this odd looking tree was actually a cell phone tower.

Why Are These Towers Becoming More Common?
Cell phone towers are beginning to get more more common as everyone has cell phones that are constantly streaming data. Many of you may be viewing your Steem accounts on your phone right now. Consumers of data are requesting better coverage and data usage is on a rise.

Seeing this “tree “made me think of creating a new post in which I looked at funny cell phone towers across the USA.

Here's one from Arizona:

Why Not Just Build A Traditional Cell Phone Tower?
Cell phone towers have sparked quite a bit of controversy as folks that live around them typically do not appreciate their look. To combat this, a lot of cell phone carriers have done what they can to provide the functionality of a cell phone tower but also have it fit in with the surroundings. As a result , we see somewhat realistic looking palm trees and even the occasional cactus in Arizona USA built to become a cell phone tower.

However, cell phone carriers do not always have to put up a brand new tower completely in order to expand coverage. As a result, cell phone components have been placed onto existing structures. This could include buildings or any other structure that reach as high into the sky.

In Summary
I hope you have enjoyed this humorous look at cell phone towers. As the use of cell phones and the data associated with them continues to grow, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for cell phone towers. One thing for sure, they will continue to be creative, funny, and functional.

Imagine just trying to get away from civilization for a few weeks so you rent a log cabin in the woods and then finding out that woods consists entirely of cellphone tours. You'll never be able to truly get away.

That is true. It is challenging to escape from the modern world these days and just be close to nature.
